Hunter enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2003 directly out of high school. Upon completion of Boot Camp at Parris Island, SC, Marine Combat Training and Supply/ Accounting school he was attached to 1st BN 12th Mar, HQ Battery. During active duty he held the billet of Fiscal Clerk, working on managing the unit’s budget and contract procurement. After serving 4 years he was honorably discharged a Sergeant and continued working towards his business degree.

He graduated from Hawaii Pacific University, with a B.S. in General Business and later earned his Chartered Financial Consultant,(ChFC®) designation in advanced financial planning from The American College.  He is currently working towards his MBA from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.

Hunter began his professional career in finance working independently with mortgages and life insurance while finishing college.  He then realized a passion for financial planning as he negotiated the evolution of a family business and began his financial planning practice with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. With a mission to help individuals, families and businesses work toward the financial future they envision, he joined Equity Planning, Inc. to provide independent and comprehensive financial planning. He holds Series 7 and 66 registrations with LPL Financial and Life/Health Insurance and mortgage licenses.

Hunter continues to strive to help other Marines in any way possible. In addition to the Wounded Warrior Breakfast in Bethesda, Hunter serves as the President of the DC Chapter of the National Marine Corps Business Network, an organization focused on helping Marines make business connections.

In his spare time Hunter’s hobbies include skiing, golfing, fishing and working out.
